Will my table's veining look exactly like the photograph?

Close, though not always identical. On the glass-topped designs each surface carries its own marbling pattern rather than a repeated print, so the veins fall differently on every table, much as they do on natural stone. The wood surfaces use a consistent printed veneer, so those match the images more precisely. Either way, expect the same colouring and overall character.

How do I clean a rectangular marble dining table top without leaving smears?

Warm water and a soft cloth handles day-to-day cleaning on both surfaces. On glass, follow with a dry microfibre cloth buffed in straight lines rather than circles, and a little white vinegar in water shifts stubborn marks. On a matte wood surface, dry it straight afterwards rather than letting water sit. Skip abrasive creams and scouring pads on either.

Is a glass marble effect tabletop safe with young children around?

Yes. The glass tops are tempered, which means they're heat-treated to be far stronger than ordinary glass and designed to break into small, blunt pieces rather than sharp shards in the rare event they do. Edges are finished flat and smooth. If you'd still rather avoid glass entirely, the marble effect wood tops are the alternative.

Does a rectangular marble dining table work in a small dining room?

It can work very well. A rectangle uses a small room's proportions better than a round table, since it follows the length of the space rather than cutting across it. Do marble effect tops scratch, and which is tougher?

Glass is the harder of the two by some margin, so cutlery, plates, and keys won't trouble it in normal use. A veneer surface is more like any other wood tabletop: fine with everyday use, but capable of taking a scratch from something sharp dragged across it. Never cut directly on either, and wipe grit away before sliding anything heavy.

Will the gold or chrome legs tarnish over time?

They're plated metal finishes rather than raw brass or steel, so they hold their colour rather than developing a patina. Wipe them with a dry cloth if they pick up marks and keep polish and chemical cleaners away from the plating. In a humid kitchen, drying any splashes off the frame is worth the ten seconds.
